Intro - Commentary
We have a lot of people who are interested in the album
We always like the idea of giving an album an intro and introduction
It makes you look at the album more as a whole piece of work
Rather than just being a whole lot of tracks that are put onto a CD or something
I think the reason we made it the intro this one is because it was kind of a song, kind of not
It's largely based on a piece of music we wrote for a film soundtrack
A film called Leave to Remain we worked on last year. It was a piece of music we'd done for that
We thought it was really cool, but in music and we didn't quite know what to do with it
It clearly wasn't really a song exactly with a chorus and a verse and everything
So we thought it would sound really good at the beginning of the album as the intro
It's quite arresting. It has lots of different Alt J things on there
Kind of vocal harmonies and then sort of like really heavy bass and some very cool drums and Alt J
