Abaddon's Cave: Entrance
I crept into the cave as quiet as the day I was born
There's no shadows in the dark
And now all the skeletons lay quiet on the floor
Born, hell buried beneath my skin
I was worshiped by grief
The fire followed and I swore it wasn't me
But ash leaves a trace,
Fine dust, skin stains, a grit between your teeth
In the dawn of my life, I could never imagine the twilight
The orange-pink of a setting sun grows
And my shadow is still heavier
But in the dark, there is no day, there is no night
Time hasn't slowed but vanished in the mist
All things are as they're ever to be
Suspended in timeless sleep
Just give me peace
A slight reprieve
I want to be forgotten
A burden cut loose from the downtrodden
I'm a page torn from the hymnal God doesn't sing from anymore
There's no shadows in the dark
And now all the skeletons lay quiet on the floor
Born, hell buried beneath my skin
I was worshiped by grief
The fire followed and I swore it wasn't me
But ash leaves a trace,
Fine dust, skin stains, a grit between your teeth
In the dawn of my life, I could never imagine the twilight
The orange-pink of a setting sun grows
And my shadow is still heavier
But in the dark, there is no day, there is no night
Time hasn't slowed but vanished in the mist
All things are as they're ever to be
Suspended in timeless sleep
Just give me peace
A slight reprieve
I want to be forgotten
A burden cut loose from the downtrodden
I'm a page torn from the hymnal God doesn't sing from anymore
