Skit
Man there's just been like, so much stuff going on in the world lately
I've been writing these songs and I've had so many questions
But just no answers or resolutions
Yeah, no kidding, and, to be honest, you're not alone
In fact, the wisest guy in the bible, back in the day, Solomon
He had everything at his disposal
And he investigated wisdom, women, money, power, he
He sought after all of it to see if life would have meaning or answers there
You know what he said
What
Ecclesiastes 12:8 "Meaningless, meaningless, says the teacher
Everything is meaningless"
That's comforting
Yeah, it's not, yeah right, there's no simple answers to this
And ultimately said in verse thirteen
"Now all has been heard, here is the conclusion of the matter
Fear God and keep his commandments for this is the duty of all mankind
For God will bring every deed into judgement
including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil"
So, I mean thinking about that keeps me up at night
Yeah it keeps me up at night too
Yeah, man, but I suppose the reality is we think our heart is searching for answers
When a lot of times our heart is searching for comfort
Actually, there's a Psalm about staying up at night talking to God
Psalm 4 says "Answer me when I call to you my righteous God"
"Give me relief from my distress, have mercy on me and hear my prayer"
And he's laying in bed at night just crying out to God asking him where are you
And it ends with peace 'cause he's laying it all down for God
He says in verse eight "in peace I will lie down and sleep
For you alone Lord make me dwell alone in safety"
Wow so praying for him was almost therapeutic (Mhm)
It was a way to just feel at peace
Yeah exactly, he goes from anxiety to peace through prayer, totally right
And you know, we're all on this journey together
We're working through it together
It's not just one of us alone figuring out the answers
You know, actually there's a Psalm about whether
It's a metaphor or a literal journey, Psalm 121
Really
Yeah, so Psalm 121 says
"I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from"
He's looking at this mountain like he has to go over it or through it
Something like that
Where does his help come from
The help comes from the Lord, maker of heaven and earth
I don't know, I, everybody's trying to chase happiness
But, I feel like it's a moment by moment thing
I feel like what we all really need is peace
I've been writing these songs and I've had so many questions
But just no answers or resolutions
