Sequestration

Light seems elusive as time barrels down
Spent are the days of my presence in town
Often I ponder if I could see dawn
Senseless, my thinking, your traitor is gone

My print and my feather are all that I own
My burden, my actions, I roam on unknown
Clouds breathe a sigh of relief I can't feel
Forgive me, sweet sorrow, this writing surreal

Of mud is my floor and the ceiling of clouds
I've written as much as my hands will allow
The inkling of light towards the sky calls me on
They got what they wanted I've met my new dawn
