Glastonbury Girl

I met her in the Goan garden
When the show was long since done
She sat down on the floor next to me
And told us all about the trip she'd done

We heard of cattle herding in the outback
And diving from the beaches of Ko Chan
And last stop before mighty Blighty
Was this meet-up with the Arambol clan

She said she lived in Glastonbury
And worked the festival each year
And the next time that I saw this beauty
Was up in the healing fields

Oh-ah-ah, oh-ah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Glastonbury girl
Oh-ah-ah, oh-ah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Glastonbury girl

We talked about our journeys
And characters that we both knew
Our fears and our hopes for the planet
And the different ways we grew

We walked together through green futures
And it somehow felt as if
It was only yesterday that we stood together
On that Indian cliff

Yet here we were at Glastonbury
The same as every year
But there's always a new experience
And this time, this girl was here

Oh-ah-ah, oh-ah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Glastonbury girl
Oh-ah-ah, oh-ah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Glastonbury girl

We played tunes and jammed at Strummerville
Walked to the sacred space and the stones
Put the world to rights at Leftfield
And headed down the rabbit hole

Truth we shared we random strangers
Heard Primal Scream on Woodsies stage
We danced up at Arcadia
Like animals released from a cage

We hugged goodbye at Glastonbury
A reunion plan appeared
We'll meet somewhere where we both lay our hats
And at Glastonbury next year

Oh-ah-ah, oh-ah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Glastonbury girl
Oh-ah-ah, oh-ah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Glastonbury girl

(Glastonbury girl) Glastonbury girl
(Glastonbury girl) Glastonbury girl
