Plant Me in a Forest

I've had a good run for my money
Happy just to be alive
I've done a bunch of crazy things
And I was lucky to survive

I've been through thick and thin
Ever grateful for my life
I've taken chances
Found some answers
To the questions
That were pestering my mind

So plant me in the forest
Cos I don't need a stone
Put me there and walk away
The worms can take me home

I've put some stuff into my body
I laughed my ass off every time
I bought some toys
And made some noise
And I put some stuff on line

I have to say that I'm amazed
That I stayed out of jail
I tried my best with some success
While learning how to fall

Just plant me in the forest
I won't need a priest
Don't pray for me I'll be okay
I'll feed the bugs and trees

And if there was a heaven
I'm pretty sure that I'd get In
Although I've done a lot of things
Some people might say are a sin

We're made of star dust
And coincidence
Some kind of fluke
But we evolved
I don't believe that there's
Some kind of holy influence
I think my mind is my soul

So plant me in the forest
Cos I don't need a grave
Find a tree and leave me be
I'll go back to where I came

And all the chances that I made
Well it wasn't down to luck or fate
I think we carve out our own destiny
And there's nobody in the sky
That's looking out for me

I'll find my immortality
In the ear worm in your head
I grew it from a seed inside my brain
And now it's growing
There in yours instead

And if I had the same time over
Well then I'd do it all again
I wouldn't change a single thing
I know that in the end
Every path I've chosen
Led me here to you

So plant me a forest
And the earth can take me in
Dismantle every molecule
And set the atoms free again
