Bubba’s Big Iron

My friend Bubba grew up in a small West Texas town
Kind of place where young folks almost never settle down
When I dropped out and moved away, he stayed in school instead
To learn all about welding and vocational ed

Bubba married Bonnie just before the senior prom
Exactly nine months later, Bonnie first became a mom
Before she started staying home, raising kids and such
Well, that little shop called Bubba's Big Iron showed a woman's touch

So you'll have to excuse him if his face is a little black
He's been tending shop and welding shocks on a tractor parked out back
He's got every kind of welding rod to help you strike an arc
And those tiny scented candles just in case the world goes dark
He's got it all on the wall, it's really quite unique
Well, it's Bubba's Big Iron Welding and Boutique

The legend of his business spread to counties far and wide
Folks still come from miles away just to look around inside
They all agree that it's the strangest thing they've ever seen
No one leaves town empty-handed anymore, it seems

They've got the cutest little oven mitts that I know you're gonna love
So just help yourself, they're on the shelf down by the welding gloves
They've got acetylene gas and visor glass in any shade you want
And those hoity-toity teacup doilies found in finer restaurants
Well, it's all on the wall, it's really quite unique
Well, it's Bubba's Big Iron Welding and Boutique

Just opened up a cappuccino bar
Right back by where they stack those darling floral jelly jars
He's got it all on the wall, it's really quite unique
Well, it's Bubba's Big Iron Welding and Boutique
Well, it's Bubba's Big Iron Welding and Boutique
