The Wild, Craggy Peaks of Forever (Here be Dragons)
The wild, wild peaks of Forever extend
Upwards and outwards and inwards they bend
The miles of ground that together we'll wend
Forwards and backwards and towards us they Come
Cartographers will chart the worlds with their Tools
We seek to find, and fate mocks us fools
I reach out my arms, take flight with these Wings
As I soar above the seas,
I hear the fathoms sing!
The Great Clock strikes with definitive chimes
Matins and midday and vespers align
Time laughs last at the way we do mark
Minutes and hours - a life's but a lark
A lark, it is true, a song bird that flew
A swallow that floats in its wake
Eternity will bless me and thee
If memories, we will make!
Upon the banks of the river, she ran
Found precious gifts from on high near the Sand
In tight, swaddling cloths, the Gift he did cry
She held him to her with her heart
The waters do rush
The estuary blinks
Opens its eyes
Sees nothing will sink
The blue will blend so smooth
And so cool
Paintings of heavens
Of heavens and you
Long ago but not far away
The wild, craggy peaks of Forever extend
Forwards and backwards and toward us they Bend
The wild, wild peaks of Forever extend
Forwards and backwards and toward us they Come
Upwards and outwards and inwards they bend
