Treasure of Nine Jewels

It's okay it's just Kayla
She's always busy lending a hand
An amazing young woman now with a servant's heart
The oldest of our nine grand

Then came Rebekah
She'll forever be Roni to me
She drives my old truck and plays my first guitar
And has a voice that's as sweet as can be

And next came Courtney
She will always be Papaw's sweet Peach
From binge watching Dumbo to piano recitals
Among her many gifts is a heart to teach

Then along came Nathan
Our very first grandson was he
I call him Nater he picks the five string
Got my 20 gauge when he turned eighteen

Our next grandson was Joshua
Took his first deer with the old 410
I'd call him hunter head and slugger too
The family name is all riding on him

The next one was Matthew
He gave me Bob the tomato to keep
Bought him a shotgun and a mandolin
With good work ethic and a desire to preach

Then came Olivia
The day I held her I called her my plum
She's a little bookworm who loves to read
Taught her the guitar and the old G run

And next came Emily
Our last granddaughter is she
I'd call her biscuit head and M&M's
She's got the cutest face and a voice so sweet

And the last one was Caleb
He's been the best little buddy to me
His favorite place is still the arm of my chair
He's my medicine and boy can he sing

Granny's Sunday dinners playing ball in the yard
Those songs in front of that old TV
Granny would hold them and sing them her song
I'll forever cherish those memories
Words can't describe the blessing it is
To be loved by each one of them
But I find it amazing this treasure of nine jewels
All came from our two precious gems
