Open Scene
Open scene, it's morning, cast away the dreams
The light of the day brings means of seizing green ambitions
But my foremost need is of a special solution
A cup of fresh ground beans and some noise pollution
I head to the balcony holding a rollie in my teeth
Clear my mind of the day before only to rebuild it piece by piece
And I sense intensity, insensitive worries stressing my peace
Got a world ahead of me, only got two eyes and two feet, one life and no sleep
That's a poor position, my feelings a prison, I seek a prism
A change of pace, a vision, to pave the way
I make a move and head for the door, grab my coat cause you never know
How the weather's gonna be, will I find the sunny side of the street?
I make for the park, a safe haven, oasis
A place to embrace nature, respite from the dangers of city life
Damn it! I just now realized, I forgot my pipe
I guess a spliff will suffice
(Yeah this is)
Poetry in motion
This is that funk elation
This is for all of you
Bringing you medication
Poetry in motion
This is that funk elation
This is for all of you
Bringing you medication
This is poetry
This is poetry
Sitting on a park bench, finna quench my thirst for peace
I'm at my worst, thoughts and convictions are bleak
I'm hoping to get nursed by nature's grandeur
In the morning hour, a flame sparks my reefer
I await my mind's liberation
Engage in my contemplative disposition,
I sit back, relax, engage my mind, erase my lines
Embrace the haze, the rage fades to black
When suddenly a dog's bark pulls me out of my stupor
The sound of birds gets louder and louder
I raise my eyes, take a gander at the people around me
No one talks, it feels like a silent movie
I break into soliloquy but none can hear me
Settle down in this newfound reality
When from the heaven comes a drop
That nests itself at the top
Of my head and the light fades, cue the refrain
(Yeah this is)
Poetry in motion
This is that funk elation
This is for all of you
Bringing you medication
Poetry in motion
This is that funk elation
This is for all of you
Bringing you medication
This is poetry
This is that funk elation
This is poetry
Obscurity starts to creep up on the city
As the sky weeps, I diverge from the street
Seek refuge, from the cloak of an oak tree
Safe from the deluge, I pull out a smoke treat
Bout to light the fucker when I realize
No more gas in my lighter, let out a little sigh
Take a look around in search of a savior
Spot a peculiar man with a stoner's behavior (Hey!)
Excuse me sir, but do you have a light?
Cause I got a doobie here I just can't do without
Pulls out his pocket a Bic, hear the sound
As I turn back around to thank him, not a soul to be seen
Was it all a dream? I lean back on the bark
Hear a crack, leave a mark, need a snack, munchies spark
And I think to myself, "dang flabbit we need some cookies up in this bitch"
Poetry in motion
This is that funk elation
This is for all of you
Bringing you medication
