Fireflies

There's a place that I know
When I'm really going slow
Where it's safe to drop the shields
I can let go

A circle surrounds me
Made of stones that I found
The trees lean in
To hear the sweet sound

I raise my arms
I sing out to the land
Voices within
Whisper "speak woman"

I face the stars
Am I on the right track?
I see images within
Through the twilight crack

I feel it inside
Peace overcomes war
Pain fades and melts
And I can see a door

It beckons, I pause
What lies beyond?
I feel so alone
Could this possibly lead home

I turn the handle
Open it wide
A familiar hand
Ushers me inside

To a magical realm
I once longed for and knew
Dissolves what remains
I am born and made new

Spark joins spark
Fills up the sky
A symphony of light
Fireflies, Fireflies, Fireflies, Fire Flies
