Here in America

Infinite darkness
Comes into focus
Try not to look it, look it in the eye
But I still see it
I see it growing
I feel the swallowing up of the light
It's on each channel and notification
10 more American kids who just died
Another gunman who was male and white

As they talk about his troubled life
And say now's not the time to politicize
And the newsman slowly starts to cry

Nothing will change here
Here in America
Because they care more about 2A rights
Just train the children
And arm the teachers
Maybe next time fewer kids will die
They call me sinner
Say I need Jesus
But their Jesus looks like a dollar sign
The way he's preaching
Rugged individualism
He calls it the way, the truth, and the life
While he covers up for pedophiles

The way out is impossible to find
I'm watching the world slowly die
Choking on cultural divide
And obsession with the afterlife
If I don't repent I'll pay the price
When I suffer in eternal strife
It's already here, open your eyes
