Wonder
Without a you, there is no bang
And the fangs of nonexistence
Sink their jagged points into my soul
There are no stars without your birth
And the earth is just an instance
Of an aeon spinning far beyond control
We may travel across space and time
And never be so graced to find
A meaning in the mayhem of our world
But in this briefest hourglass
I see our future and our past
A fleeting wisp of love where comets swirled
There is a light that comes from nothing
Though we're born from random thunder
Look underneath the chaos as it falls
We are here, and that means something
So when your heart is torn asunder
We will wonder at the wonder of it all
We will wonder at the wonder of it all
If there's nothing, what are we?
Just a sea of startled stratums
That can't fathom where to go without a guide
Out of nowhere comes a light
But the bright blast of our atoms
Forms a star casting shadows where we hide
We may travel across space and time
As the circle of our life unwinds
We sigh and watch infinity unfurl
But in this briefest hourglass
We yearn for all the sand to last
Until our dance becomes a cosmic twirl
There is a light that comes from nothing
Though we're born from random thunder
Look underneath the chaos as it falls
We are here, and that means something
So when your heart is torn asunder
We will wonder at the wonder of it all
We will wonder at the wonder of it all
And the fangs of nonexistence
Sink their jagged points into my soul
There are no stars without your birth
And the earth is just an instance
Of an aeon spinning far beyond control
We may travel across space and time
And never be so graced to find
A meaning in the mayhem of our world
But in this briefest hourglass

A fleeting wisp of love where comets swirled
There is a light that comes from nothing
Though we're born from random thunder
Look underneath the chaos as it falls
We are here, and that means something
So when your heart is torn asunder
We will wonder at the wonder of it all
We will wonder at the wonder of it all
If there's nothing, what are we?
Just a sea of startled stratums

We will wonder at the wonder of it all
