Sophie Hindley's Letter

Hey Sophie
It's been a while since we last spoke
I know you've reached out a couple times and it hasn't gone well

Honestly, I don't think I was quite ready then
But I've been working on myself a lot

And assessing what it is I want from life
And what's really important to me

And I kept finding myself coming back to you
And to process it all I did what you suggested in that cabin I wrote

You inspired me to do that

And I couldn't help but put this whole album together
To not only show you but tell you how I feel
And how much you inspire me you know?

It's crazy how a year has gone by and it's felt like a lifetime

I guess it just made me realise that
I don't want any more lifetimes without you

I know there's been a lot of pain between us
But there's also been a lot of love

I guess that's why this is called Sometimes Love Hurts

My pride is telling me not to even do this
But If I'm to stay true to myself
I have to put that aside because you're more important to me
And I don't want to live a life with any regret

So here I am
As vulnerable as I could possibly be
Opening up and telling you exactly how I feel
So if you were so gracious as to make me the happiest man
On this planet and give me a chance to gain your trust
And your heart
At whatever pace you find most comfortable
Coz I don't want to rush anything
Then I can make you this promise
That you won't regret it
And I will always show up for you

Now I know I'm asking a lot of you
I know Believe me I know
I just hope you'll look in your heart and really give it some thought

And as you think about it
I'll be waiting on the other end of the phone patiently
