Fable

Oh could it be fun, watching you run,
And to hear your laughter from the windowpane?

How lucky we are
To be under the stars
To see the sunshine when we wake up every day

Some will say it gets easier
When you've woken so don't keep me
Waiting in the dark

Don't tell me I already know,
How everything in the fable goes
Can I rewrite the pages of your youth?

And leave them all behind
Those closet skeletons in our minds
I hear her voice inside of everything I write

How I'd love to relive it
If it meant that things could stay the same forever

Now it's time to move forward
And a time to look back
And let the summers fade

I'll waste my time
Trying to rhyme
And to glue together pieces of a frame

And when I've had it all along
When will they tell me I was wrong?
Our destinations-time will tell us where they are

I don't know if there's a meaning
Every soul, every being
Have I seen them all before?
