Happy Hurricane

We tend to curse the wind that buffets our face
We tend to hate the weight that holds us in place
We dread anxiety that crushes our heart
We hate the hurt that tears us apart

But what if it's these that turn our face
To pursue shelter in His grace?

Happy hurricane, blessed storm
That has led me to my Lord
Thank you, winds and roaring waves
For leading me to the One who saves
Happy hurricane, happy hurricane

The waves loom large when the lightning strikes
We try to hide when it's time for us to fight
When the boat is tossed and we feel frail
White-knuckled fists always clench its rail

But what if it's troubles that turn our face
To walk on the waves and find His grace?

Happy hurricane, blessed storm
That has led me to my Lord
Thank you, winds and roaring waves
For leading me to the One who saves
Happy hurricane, happy hurricane

But what if it's troubles that turn our face
To walk on the waves and find His grace?

Happy hurricane, blessed storm
That has led me to my Lord
Thank you, winds and roaring waves
For leading me to the One who saves
Happy hurricane, happy hurricane
