Hat Trick

I hit the ice, and I'm ready for the game
I'm eager for the puck drop, my teammates feel the same
I'm in the starting lineup, I got the top spot
The ref is ready, so we set up at the dot

A few minutes in, I score the first goal
Putting the puck in the net will really lift your soul
My buddy's stick just caught another player's chin
Now he'll have to spend a couple minutes in the sin bin

I intercept a pass with a brilliant take-away
Then I bury the puck on a shorthanded breakaway
Later in the game I'm left alone in the slot
I get a good pass and I bury my shot

The other team's defense has had really bad luck
Considering the fact that I've buried three pucks

But back in our net, our goalie stands tall
The other team is shooting against a brick wall
