The Greatest Story Ever Told
Through the double helix our fates are intertwined
We navigate this labyrinth deaf, mute, and blind
But progress has no borders, it doesn't color inside the lines
To discover new oceans you must leave the shore behind
So let us gather around the fire and dance once again
And free ourselves of fear's imaginary influence
Because unity needs rivalry to know the difference
Like harmony can only be defined by dissonance
On mountains rest the dead with their eyes still on the prize
Every piece of marble hides a masterpiece inside
We must stop and smell the flowers as we tiptoe through the mines
Hidden treasure's only found when you're brave enough to dive
It's the greatest story ever told and you get to play a part
If you step back from the brush strokes to admire this art
And lets not get distracted by that greener grass my friend
But instead lets question who decided to build the fence
That once heroic battlefield now an abandoned shopping mall
The insects will not mourn for us after the bombs fall
Why does it get the loudest when there's no noise at all
Why do we still beat our chest to get our point across?
Will we waste our evolution by being puppets on a string
Forced to fight for scraps of bite from the mouth of tyranny
I grow dizzy spinning around in the gears of this machine
But I'm not sure there is a cure to stop this
to end this
to fix this disease
