Challenging Years

He was born in a little town
In a religious family
He was sleeping on a bed of straw
With one of his brothers
His mother passed away
After the birth of his little brother
The family had to flee
When the war arrived
And his father was assassinated

Now that you are gone
I feel such an emptiness within me
Although your teen lives were really hard
You provided for us
Making our early years
Much less of a challenge
And more of a dream
When the time came
You cared so much for us

She was born in the city of lights
Lived in a small but decent flat
When the war arrived at last
The family went away
She had to fight to live in this world at war
But she successfully passed those challenging years

(Solo)

Now that you are gone
I feel such an emptiness within me
Although your teen lives were really hard
You provided for us

Now that you are gone
I feel such an emptiness within me
