Unheard Voices

Oppressive whispers follow, floating through the air
Guiding with temptation, filling me with fear
Twisting my perception to a feeling of unease
Lost within their current, becoming harder now to breathe

They claw beneath the surface (open up your mind)
They fight to be released (give yourself to us)
I've lost my sense of purpose (it's right before your eyes)

More and more I feel like I'm slipping
Falling into a blank hypnotic state
Is this the fault of my conscious failing
Have I been cursed by the choices that I've made

I hear the voices getting louder
Growing far beyond breaking point
My peace of mind has been devoured
My sense of self is lost within the noise

Save me from this hell

Listen closely and obey
We are a part of you
Follow blind into the fray
This is your bitter truth

I try to hide from these dangers I perceive
But everywhere I go I feel them gnawing at my feet
Feeding on my ignorance
They steal away my elegance

There's no escape, will this madness never end
I'm starting to forget the sound of nothing in my head
On and on inside of me
They wage a war I can't perceive

If this is part of my life now
We need to find a way to live in peace
There has to be a better middle ground
A fine line to keep my mind at ease
