A storm rolled in and the sky turned gray
I couldn't see the sun through the disarray
But faith whispered softly this isn't the end
Behind every shadow the light will ascend

I held to the promise though fear was loud
There's always light behind the clouds
Oh the light behind the clouds will break
A dawn of mercy for every ache

Though storms may rage and doubts enshroud
There's healing in the light behind the clouds
Each drop of rain washed a wound unseen
Each clap of thunder drew me to my knees

But the voice of God caught my weary soul
I am the light I make brokenness whole
Through every trial His presence stayed
A beacon of hope through the night's cascade

Oh the light behind the clouds shines through
A faithful promise forever true
Through tempest wild and sorrows plowed
We find His grace in the light behind the clouds

Behind the dark a new day begins
A tapestry woven with threads of hymn
The storm may blind but the truth remains
The sun will rise through the Savior's name

Now I face each storm with steady grace
Knowing His light will take its place
Even in shadows His love surrounds
There's healing in the light behind the clouds

Oh the light behind the clouds won't fade
Through every tear His peace is made
Our faith is firm those skies are about
We're held by the light behind the clouds

When the storm has passed and the skies are clear
I'll remember the light
