Freedom Sure Ain't Free

He was born in a little farm house,1983
The first son of a small town farmer, East Tennessee
Taught by Mom at an early age to turn the other cheek
But not back down for what he believed
His God or his country

A few years later down the road
His world turned upside down
Now heaven shook him hard, when those towers came down
He said, Dad, there's a war on now, and I'm joining the marines
And don't try to stop me 'cause you always said to me
Boy, you always remember this

Freedom ain't something we got free
Somebody paid a price for life and liberty
You always stand and fight
For what you believe
Cause boy, freedom sure ain't free

He got sent off to Iraq and called home every week
He said, Mom and Dad, I love you
And I know you pray for me
But if my name ever comes up missing
You know where I'll be
And always remember that, I'm proud of my country
It's like you said, Dad

Freedom ain't something we got free
Somebody paid a price for life and liberty
And I'm proud to stand and fight for this country
Because freedom don't come free

He's buried in a desert
Somewhere in the sand
You and me can live at peace in this great land
It's time we understand

Freedom It ain't something we got free
My buddy gave his life
For this great country
He said, let's take a stand, and fight for what we believe
Cause freedom, don't come free
No, freedom sure ain't free

He was born in a little farm house,1983
