New Hero

Stirring late at night when others sleep so peaceful,
I don't care, it's here for the taking.
Turning comic book page,
Are there those who live to save the day?
Could I be one of them?

There are heroes in our heads and living under beds,
Invisible to eyes they are supersonic spies
With overwhelming odds,
But there is now a cost for heroes.
It's just the way they are, heroes.
They travel near and far and
Then they go back home to think about tomorrow.

Grasping for the short stray,
Some would say it is a mistake, and I do not blame them.
Chasing lines of drawings,
Faces turn to look for a surprise,
But is it the real thing.

There are heroes in our heads and living under beds,
Invisible to eyes they are supersonic spies
With overwhelming odds,
But there is now a cost for heroes.
It's just the way they are, heroes.
They travel near and far and
Then they go back home to think about tomorrow.

This is the future, it is a cataclysmic dream.
Does it suit you?
Is it like on the silver screen?
Heroes will come save us.
Heroes will come save the day.
We talk about our heroes,
As were counting down to zero
