Rosebush

It's running way past winter
The fall is long long gone
The spring is closing swiftly
Its shadows left my lawn

Days grow long when it's summer's turn
Upon this my skin begins to burn
Someone give me back my tree
My shelter from the sun

The heat it seems to sting you
'round here it beats so hard
It is a brutal season
For water I do starve

Days grow long when it's summer's turn
Upon this my skin begins to burn
Someone give me back my tree
My shelter from the sun

And the humidity
It takes away my energy
And I wont lie
It runs me dry
'til the midnight sky comes to soothe me
