Widowmakers

Widows tread where the dead are wrapped
All that's left is trapped in silk thread
Last throes ebb and flow as web
Silently confirms every primal fear
Solely in return for contact

This envenomation leads a wound to fester
Systematic torture takes away control
Chemical sedation mediates surrender
Tightening a grip that kills the hope to break its hold

Shadows dance a dirge while wicked things emerge
From depths of deepest hell where the maker lay
Hidden from the sun for so long
'Neath the willow trees shifting in the breeze
Phantoms start to swarm circling around
Silhouettes perform their last rites

When the night gives way unto another day
Victims on display can bear no warning
