Kingpin - Track By Track
Kingpin is a, that was one of the riffs that I had when I was riding
With Ian and Brendan in Nashville
And I had that riff knocking around for a bit
And then the subject came from on, the tour bus we've been watching the while for quite a while
It kind of kept us going in a way
And I remember in October last year when I did the tour
And all, we had this terrible little van in your back at it
And said, East Midlands Van Hire. But it went everywhere
It lasted forever. I have a lot of memories for that little van
While I kept us going watch it on the drummers iPad
And when we got the tour bus in February, I went from this crappy van to this really posh tour bus
And we continued watching it, and it was interesting to hear some of the references
Like, we have drugs and things that happened
And obviously, where I'm from, I know references myself, but from Clifton or whatever
So I thought, well, it'd be quite interesting to put those references together and see what happens
And then both the kind of word kingpin, I'm sure, nearly everywhere
That's the term for the top man at that game
So it was just a bit of an experiment, that one, but it came out all right
With Ian and Brendan in Nashville
