Gun Metal Grey - Track By Track
First track on the album, "Gun Metal Grey"
It's probably one of the first tracks we actually wrote
And it came about really nicely
Because we're in a studio with the actual band
Andy Gangadine, our drummer and Ray, he's our frontman
And we're sort of sitting around, Andy was playing
Some ideas on a drum kit, ahem
And literally from kind of jamming out
A bit how we do in the soundcheck
This kind of groove came about, an idea came about
Suddenly Rage was on the mic, ahem
And within about four hours we had the sort of basis for the track
We ended up pitching Rage down a little bit
We kind of loved what people like ASAP have been doing
And that whole kind of like-
Chopped and screwed movement (yeah)
Just happened for a long time and it's our kind of take on that -
And it was just, it was cool and Saul added some guitar
And suddenly it had a kind of bluesy feel as well
I mean, and we're massive fans of the black keys
And it kind of had a bit of that sort of dark vibe as well
So having really quick and it had a real nice live feel
And then we thought this might be a nice way
To sort of start off the new album
Something a bit darker and a bit more sort of interesting
