Animal Fear (Commentary)
"Animal Fear" is track 7 and starts the B-side of the record
Um, it's uh, sort of dealing with the idea of turning into a werewolf um, and not wanting to, um
Sort of being ashamed of it and being hunted and judged for it
But being unable to control it, which I think sort of represents everyone's dark side that they have to deal with, and I think just learn to accept
Um, I was playing around with more funny tunings on this one as well, so that was a kind of revelation
As a very open tuning, it's basically just Cs and As with a G thrown in
Um, and it was quite a pretty guitar part, I realized, once I'd written that
So I kind of deliberately went upstairs and wrote some slightly darker lyrics to offset that. I don't want to write anything too happy
Um, yeah, and this was much fun in the studio, um
Me and Charlie were both kind of bashing out drums together and having a bit of laugh, and it's the most kind of the most upbeat one on the album, I think
