In Words (Commentary)
Um, track number 8, which is "
In Words", um, was kind of a funny one of those songs that just struck me
I think one evening, I was about to go meet some friends at the pub and I ended up being about 40 minutes late because I suddenly just wrote a song
Which is very unusual and rare for me
Um, and yeah, we kind of took it into the studio
And I think there was a Beck song we were quite inspired by, um
And we went out and bought a dilruba and a sarangi which makes that drone sound that you hear throughout
Um, and kinda tried to get to play them, and Kirsty, Charlie's wife who plays the violin and viola, she got her head round it as well
Um, and then that's offset, there's some harmonics on the guitar, that sound a bit like a kind of toy box, as well, that come in
I'd had those, that little riff, um, I've had that for about 5 years so it was nice to finally be able to use it in something
