Upon This Christmas Star

The snow is gently falling
It's a perfect Christmas night
And as the world outside gets covered in
A sheet of snowy white
Your tree is trimmed
Your gifts are wrapped
And your kids are safe and sound
You think there's nothing left for you to do
But just take a look around

Because that snow's not quite as magical
For the man who has no home
And the spirit of the season's lost
When you're on the street alone
Across town a family's struggling
But they just can't make ends meet
How can they worry about gifts
If they don't have enough to eat

And that Christmas star that shines on you
You know it shines on those folks too
It just seems a little brighter where you are
And on a very special night tonight
You have one more chance to make things right
You can spread a little hope from where you are
And let them make a wish upon this Christmas star

Now I know you're probably thinking
What difference could one person make
But if we all just gave a little
How long would it really take
Before one more child could go to sleep
With a tummy full
And one more lost soul on the street
Might feel a little less alone

So when you think about the season
Remember what it really means
And when you see that star above you
And how brightly it still gleams
Just remember but for God's grace
It could as easily be you
And if you stood in their place
What would you want to see us do

And that Christmas star that shines on you
You know it shines on those folks too
It just seems a little brighter where you are
And on a very special night tonight
You have one more chance to make things right
You can spread a little hope from where you are
And let them make a wish upon this Christmas star
On a very special night tonight
You have one more chance to make things right
You can spread a little hope from where you are
And let them make a wish upon this Christmas star
