The Gospel of Jesus Christ

Now let me tell you
About a grand old plan
That was created
Before the creation of man
While we were all up
In the premortal existence
Father gathered us around
And told us of the distance
That we'd have to go
To return to live with Him
We'd have to gain a body
Overcome sin
But we wouldn't have to do that
All on our own
He'd provide a Savior
To bring us all home
The Earth was created
God chose Adam and Eve
He placed them in the Garden
But they could not leave
He told them not to eat
Of the fruit of that tree
But Satan told them if they did
Then they would see
So they did
For that, they were cast out
But now they could have children
There is no doubt
Cuz we are all here
We accepted the plan
And now here on Earth
We do the best that we can

To prepare to meet God
To exercise faith
To repent of our sins
To be baptized, don't wait
To receive the gift
Of the Holy Ghost
To endure to the end
That is the problem for most
But that's why Jesus Christ
Was born to save man
So he could help lift us
When we couldn't even stand
He overcame sin
And then He conquered death
And through His Atonement
He became the living breath
As we go through life
We all reach a point
Where we die and go to paradise
Or the spirit joint
And then we're resurrected
And we're brought before God
To be judged on whether or not
We held on to the rod
We're placed in one of three
Different kingdoms of glory
If we don't repent before then
It'll be too late to say sorry
Unrepentant sinners are sent
To the glory Telestial
Good men who don't accept the fullness
To the glory Terrestrial

But the place
Where we all want to be
Is with the Father and Son
In the Celestial glory
That's where we can be
With our families forever
We can have a fullness of joy
In all our endeavors
We'll receive exaltation
And become like our Father
That is the purpose of this Plan
And why we should never falter
So remember to stand strong
In the face of temptation

It begins with faith

Who brings us salvation from death

That faith without works is dead
So follow Christ's commandments

Our faith
Should then lead us to repent
To change our old ways
To mend our dents
As we recognize, correct
And forsake our offenses
And ask for God's forgiveness
We're cleansed and brought back to our senses

Then we're ready
To make a promise with the Father
By being baptized
By immersion in the water
We covenant to obey
All the Father asks us to do
Our sins our washed away
Our life is renewed
Then the Father
Gives us the great gift
Of the Holy Ghost
To help give us a lift
To help us always
Yo, do what is right
To guide us, protect us
And testify of the true light
After we have entered
Yeah, into the gate
We must endure to the end
And try to keep our path straight
Continually repenting
Every time we mess up
And I know that those who do this
Yeah, will feel of God's love
Part of
Enduring to the end
Is keeping the commandments
That's important, my friends
So Imma tell ya all
That the Father commands
Think of them as ways to happiness
Rather than a list of demands

Obey the laws of God
And you will be blessed
Remember to pray often
To help relieve you of stress
Study the scriptures every day
To understand the truth
Keep the Sabbath Day holy
Your own pleasure, do not do
Be baptized
Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost
Follow the prophet
Or you might end up being toast
Keep the Ten Commandments
All throughout your life
And sexual feelings
Are reserved for husband and wife

No coffee, tea, drugs,
Or tobacco or alcohol
Give a tenth of your income
To the Lord, that's all
Fast at least once a month
And donate money to the poor
Obey the laws of the land
And see what blessings lie in store
Now there are a few
Ordinances and laws
That you need to know about
Once you're dedicated to the Lord's cause
Men should prepare
For priesthood
Cuz it's the power to act in God's name
For the children of men's good

Look for opportunities
To share the gospel
Pray for the courage to speak
Yeah, I know it is possible
Get married in the temple
Where your marriage is eternal
Keep your love alive
The family really is supernal
Enter the temple
To do work for the dead
Find your deceased relatives
Be baptized in their stead
Accept a calling
To serve in the church
All callings are important
No matter your perch
Continue to teach others
Continue to learn more
Endure to the end
