While the body of Christ argues wrong versus right
I've been searching for the truth that they've blindly denied
Condemning tongues swearing up and down that they speak out of love

So concerned with feeling secure
You've abandoned and neglected all that your faith stands for
We have lost true sight of what it is to breathe life to each other

Sunday morning pep-talks of a baptismal martyr
You take the pages you want
And leave the Bible in the water

You're choking the life out of everyone
Manipulating them to fit your own circumstances
You would sentence God to die
Just so you can rationalize?

There is only one truth
He's not subjective to you
There is only one life
You chose yourself, I will not stand by

If only you could understand how it feels

But it's constantly consuming me
At least I feel something

But you've discredited the cross with half-hearted claims
