Call It a Day
From the balconies of Heaven
There came a powerful cry
And the first rays of sunlight
Burst across a clear blue sky
With a spoken word He separated
The waters from the land
And the mountains took their place
At His command
He spoke and rivers started flowing
From the mountains to the sea
In the sky He placed the eagle that feels
The wind beneath his wings
As the sun sank in the valley
Where all His animals were at play
He smiled and hung the last star in the Milky Way And said "Let's call it a day"
This is the day that the Lord hath made
Holy angels played on their harps
While Heaven's choir sang
This the day that the Lord hath made
Heaven rang with praise
The handiwork of God was on display
And He called it a day
In a garden east in Eden
From the dust God made man
The pride of His creation
Soon would fall to Satan's hand
As Adam bit into forbidden fruit
A tear filled his Maker's eye
Then Adam felt
A part of him die
From then on when he would reach for food
Thorns would pierce his hand
Each time he wiped his brow
He knew a curse was on the land
But in time God sent His Son
To die and wash sin's curse away
And He's coming back to heal the land
And then He'll say
"Let's call it a day"
This is the day that the Lord hath made
Sin's debt is paid
The precious blood of the Lamb
Washed it away
This is the day that the Lord hath made
Rejoice and praise His name
Forever in His presence we will stay
And we'll call it a day
This is the day that the Lord hath made
Rejoice and praise His name
Forever in His presence we will stay
And we'll call it a day
There came a powerful cry
