Text Me Back (Poem)

I coulda been swimming laps or learned Japanese
Coulda took a business class on how to earn lavish things
Researched recipes for hors d'eouvers or how to work with plexi glass
Instead I'm sitting in my corner wishing you would text me back

I coulda thrown the old shit from the fridge and cleaned the stove
I coulda hopped into my car off to some place I'd never drove
But compared to our text topics the tropics are rather cold
Because constellation glow of your response I'd rather know

Instead of over analyzing what I said in my last message
I coulda refinanced my student loans and overhauled my credit
But I can't help but scrutinize what I said and how I said it
When there's youth up in your eyes and if I lose it I'll regret it

Coulda rode Darjeeling Limited like Indian Wes
Coulda wrote Darjeeling Limited just give me a pen
Instead I'm sitting wishing that you'd give me a text
With my phone in one hand and my dick in the next it's Mac
