Up to You (Poem)

Help her, don't overwhelm her
Don't try to captain or direct, don't try to helm her
And when you tell her, don't try to sell her
On anything cuz she ain't tryna sell her

Be patient, get on that waitlist
Show her when shit hits the fan that you can take shit
That you can take it, give it a facelift
Cuz that's the only way you'll prove you two can make it

Stick with the basics, or you gon' break shit
You hit the spark and if you move too fast it won't stay lit
The heart can weight lift, but only she can compel her
Before you ask it for its strength it's gotta swell first

She got a shell. Sometimes that shell hurts
But no one develops a shell without going through hell first
Just help her, don't overwhelm her
There's still so much about yourself you gotta tell her

So show her. Don't overload her
Give her a reason for a season to come home for
Spring beckons that shit always brings lessons
you could turn and chin check on 'em or learn from the best of 'em

The rest is up to you
