Like It’s The Last Time - Commentary
We're celebrating Thomas Rhett's Tangled Up Deluxe
Which is available now
It's got 18 songs on there, we're playing all of them today
On Big Machine Radio
I am Becker, and we're talking to Thomas about the songs on the album, and
This next one that we're about to play
I know you write a ton of songs
And so, it seems to me that you're always moving on to the next new shiny thing
But this song, i-i-it kinda hung on
We meant to cut it on the first record
But it actually just-just didn't fit
And we didn't have enough space on it
And so, uh, this song was actually requested to be cut by all the different artist in Nashville
And it's one of the only ones that I held for longer than two years for myself
I wrote this song with my dad, and Ben Hayslip
And, it's been one of my wife's favorite song I've written in a while
I love the simplicity of it
I love the message of, of living kinda every day is your last
And, it just kinda brings me back to where I grew up
And reminds me of high school and college a lot
I can see that
You know, it kinda reminds me of sort of an anthem
For like and end of summer party with all your buddies
I love it, it's called Like It's The Last Time on Big Machine Radio
