Learned It From The Radio - Commentary

We're so glad to have Thomas Rhett hanging out with us
Celebrating the release of his Tangled Up deluxe album
And we've been playing all the tracks
Including the ones from the original standard version of Tangled Up
And in fact, we're on the last track from that one

But you know, Thomas, I listened to this album
And one thing that comes to mind is just "fun"
This album feels good
Talk to me about going into the studio
A lot of people talk about the sophomore jinx and the pressure that you feel
Was that on your mind when you were in the studio?

You know, between the label just kind of saying, "Man, you do you"
And me, Jesse Frasure and Dann Huff making this record
I just feel like everybody just had fun making the record
And I feel like a lot of, a lot of times in today's time
I think a lot of people think that making a record is work
And it's pressure, and it's, well, "Is the label gonna like this?"
Or "Are the fans gonna like this?"
And we just wanted to have a good time
And make a record that we loved and made us smile
And I think that's what made this record so special

Considering Tangled Up has produced three number one hits
I think the fans loved what you did
I know I do
And here comes "Learned It From The Radio"
I think anybody, especially if you grew up in a small town
This song will resonate with you
And it's on Big Machine Radio
