Saltwater Gospel (Commentary)

Well, I am too
So I say let's go ahead and start playing the music
The first song I wanna talk about is "Saltwater Gospel"
I mean interestingly this was a song that you didn't write
One of the few that you guys didn't have a hand in writing
But it was the first song that you chose to release off this new project
So what was it about "Saltwater Gospel" that spoke to you
And made it the right choice for the first release off this album?

We knew right away that it was special
And everyone in the studio too, I mean, like everyone around us
It was like everyone's first choice
It was just the automatic go-to
And the funny thing about it was
We, we kinda put that in our pockets and then recorded more and more songs
And we kept going back, back to the "Saltwater Gospel", so it's like
Just two times it basically became, you know, the obvious choice for the first single

I mean, it's, uh when you love the water, man
You love the water, you know I think, uhm
It's just one of those things that
The passion, that, that some folks have for, uhm, the ocean
And then the spiritual element that it has, uhm
It's not just, uh, the idea of loving the ocean
It's about how you appreciate it, how you appreciate the spirituality of it you know

I totally get it and I love this song off their brand-new album, "Fingerprints"
Which is available now
