Fingerprints (Commentary)

We're giving you the chance to check out the new album from Eli Young Band
"Fingerprints", which is out now and we're playing all the songs off the album
This next one is actually the title track
But you know it's interesting because if you read the lyrics
And you look at it from a lyrical standpoint
You wouldn't necessarily think of the message of "Fingerprints" as the title track
But as a title it works
So what made you choose this song as the title track?

"Fingerprints" when we were writing the song
It doesn't necessarily lend itself to, uhm
Embodying the album and what it means and all this, uh
But it can have so many, so many meanings
And I, I think that that's when we took the idea from the song
To title the album this

It was all about, there have been so many people around us
That have left their impression on us
And left their impression on our music
We didn't just do this ourselves, you know
We worked hard sure but we, we're surrounded by
A lot of hardworking, really great people that deserve as much of the credit as we do
And, uhm, that was kind of the idea behind naming the record "Fingerprints"
You know

The song itself is more of a a lover scorn kind of thing
Which, it's an aggressive song that
That makes you wanna kinda scream a little bit, you know
Which makes it really fun for the live show
Uhm, we've been starting off the show lately with "Fingerprints"
Which has been really well for the first, to get the show started
