Granddaughters

GRANDDAUGHTERS

They're my granddaughters; they're my pride and joy
My sons are their fathers; there's more girls now then boys
I'm sure their moms wonder, about this crazy guy
All I know is, 'round these girls, my heart surely flies

1) Grandpas and granddaughters, it's something unique.
When I first saw their faces I barely could speak.
So I grabbed my guitar, and played them a song.
In this crazy old world, it seemed the problems were gone.

2) I think grandkids are the reason for our second childhood.
With our own kids, as parents, we had to be good.
But now with grandkids it's 'bout memories that linger.
Like when they giggle as I say pull my finger.

They're my granddaughters; they're my pride and joy
My sons are their fathers; there's more girls now then boys
I'm sure their moms wonder, about this crazy guy
All I know is, 'round these girls, my heart surely flies

3) I have to say that things sure have changed.
I now love ballet, and the beach; ain't it strange
Holding these little girls' hands in mine
Has shown me the life, of a grandpa's just fine.

They're my granddaughters; they're my pride and joy
My sons are their fathers; there's more girls now then boys
I'm sure their moms wonder, about this crazy guy
All I know is, 'round these girls, my heart surely flies
