The Whiskey Ode

It's snowing outside and I stumble in weary
The room's full of friends and a bright fire glows
I don't know if I should have one or two drinks
So I guess I'll have three and we'll see how it goes

Pull out the stop and we'll pass 'round a bottle
We've plenty of whiskey and nowhere to go
And if by some chance we should live 'til tomorrow
Hand us our coats and we'll all stumble home

There's a woman in red at the end of the bar
And I'm certain that I've never seen her before
I don't know if I should be funny or charming
(But you've never been neither) So show her the door

Pull out the stop and we'll pass 'round a bottle
We've plenty of whiskey and nowhere to go
And if by some chance we should live 'til tomorrow
Hand us our coats and we'll all stumble home

The night is still young and the fire's a-blazin'
I say lads, our presence is taking its toll
Two of the barkeeper's bottles are empty
But he's got seven more that are all the way full

Pull out the stop and we'll pass 'round a bottle
We've plenty of whiskey and nowhere to go
And if by some chance we should live 'til tomorrow
Hand us our coats and we'll all stumble home

Now it's three in the morning, we've emptied six bottles
The crowd is much smaller, and the fire is low
And I'm not sure if I should go home or just stay here
Ah well, two or three more and I'm certain I'll know

Pull out the stop and we'll pass 'round a bottle
We've plenty of whiskey and nowhere to go
And if by some chance we should live 'til tomorrow
Hand us our coats and we'll all stumble home

Pull out the stop and we'll pass 'round a bottle
We've plenty of whiskey and nowhere to go
And if by some chance we should live 'til tomorrow
Hand us our coats and we'll all stumble home
