Rain

When i was a kid i felt the thunder in my chest
It would stop my heart and bring up a constant fear of death
I would hide inside my closet and wait for it to end
And i would curse the spring and summer and cover up my head

Thanks to you i go outside and i watch the dark sky flash
And then you tell me it's okay so i never have to ask
And when i hear your voice it sings out and dampens every sound
You always make me realize that i'm fine here on the ground

Running home i feel your presence it's filling up my lungs
And when it gets too loud outside i can hear you up above
And when i try to fall asleep i can feel you on my chest
When i'm anxious or when i'm stressed i can feel your gentle breath

Rain is falling everywhere and its flooding in the road
Rain is all that i see on the window pouring when it glows
Rain is falling miles and miles and it's somehow hitting you
Rain dripping down from the sky as it's melting off the moon and i know that

This month is full of love
Your touch is is such a rush
In spring you're all i need
Under snow you're holding me

You are here always
