Walking through the night I found something
Tiny sparkling light is shimmering
Bending to pick it up I heard it's voice
Now aware that I'm without a choice

I felt your warmth your sensitivity
Fragile but it felt like everything
All at once we melted into one
Icicles that drip under the sun

Hush little bear it's all alright

I remember getting sushi at a restaurant down the street
You took my picture when I wasn't looking so that everyone could see
So they could see two nervous kids a day or two into their relationship
With floaty hearts around my face and a caption saying "date with alex"

I saw myself in a different light in your perspective I was yours
Although nervous and barely talking your calming presence made me sure
And in that moment when you spilled your water I saw a different side of you
Because you were nervous maybe more than I was and I adored just talking to you

And after food at night we watched
Heathers and I held you close
I felt so safe just laying there
