Monopoly of Truth

How many times have we told you to fear the Truth?
To reach inside lest your wages overcome you?
The night - it waits as it hides

What can we say of the way that we see the light?
We reach inside and know in our hearts we're right
The right to live in the Light is mine!

We've got the means, got the resources, got the Life
We've got it all figured out - none to decide
Another way cannot be done!

These are the days of the battle inside
A hundred days longer than a month of Sundays
Lord, help me please wage the battle inside
What's on the line is the thought of losing You

Into the light, into my mind
I break through the edge, consider a life
Have I put the Creator into a box?

But now I'm haunted by the words that the author said
"I'm just a beggar leading beggars along to the bread"
The Truth's not mine to own!
