The Power of the Right Question

What do you think?
How do you read it? How do you know it?
Is it luck? Being born in the right place?
Having a pastor that's better at this?

Which Christ is this?
The missionary gets a flat tire?
Is it what you say? Who you are? What you do?
Who's your wife? What you ask? What they ask you?
And who gets to decide?

Where is there?
What will it be like? Will there be dogs there?
Does anybody look good in a white robe?
Is our eschatology it?

Do I believe in a literal Hell?
Or a man in tights playing Pink Floyd backwards?
Do we really need a serious word
One loaded with violence and hate
And all the horror we abide?

How big is God?
Is He sort of great? Does God get what God wants?
Is history tragic? Are we safe?
Are we all on our own?

And what of me?
Am I asking enough questions?
If I test what I know, what I love
What I think, what I feel
What I know is real
Surely the truth in all survives!
