Make It Out Somehow

I went for a walk inside the wilderness the other day
In a state of complete bewilderment and disarray
I chose the path besides the water for to ease my mind
Before I knew the hours flew and I lost track of time
And the sky fell, there was darkness all around
The direction from which I came could not be found
And the coyote called and the black wind howled
But I knew that I could make it out somehow

I knew a man who had a plan to take his own life
He'd put the lighter to the spoon and then turn off the lights
Every breath was just a quest to attempt not to feel
One afternoon he grabbed the keys and got behind the wheel
And the car swerved blindly off the road
He does not recollect the wreck his mind had closed
It's been two years since that scene and he is still clean now
He found a way to make it out somehow

Let's say this country is a house because it is your home
And it was built with quick precision on a bed of stone
With everyone welcome at the table, even passers through
Over the years it becomes weather like all good things do
The tenants job is to maintain it, to their best intent
I say that you and me are tenants because we all rent
When a pipe leaks in the bedroom on the highest floor
The water weaves and trickles down and that can't be ignored
Cause water idle in the darkness where the air is still
Develops mold and those who breath it can get deathly ill

So ya got no choice but to open up the wall
If it's rotten from within well then the whole house falls
With your mask and your hammer and a sacred vow
You find a way to make it out somehow
