Free Time

When we wake up, we fill our cup
We get in our cars, we walk down the block
We go to our jobs, and we auto-accommodate

When we have lunch, we sit and talk
All is okay, if just for a moment
We laugh at what we heard someone else say
We're done and we're on our way

Our feet are aching, and our backs are tired
So ere bedtime we lay and watch stories, and we eat strawberries
We relish in free time, free time

When we wake up, we fill our cup
It is Wednesday, no work but our own to get done
Walk down to the city
We go to a show, trade dollars for a pretty night
With my ears jammed up with the wall of screeching noise and sound,
The bass in my belly like a beast

When we fall asleep, the fuzz sits in our ears
We are happy to be here, to be here
