Omens

I can't tell if I'm down to earth, or if I just walk around a lot
Sometimes there are omens, and plants that grow where there's nothing left

One dead crow on the bricks lining the cliff on the side of the street
I can't tell if I'm doing great til I see my friends I've had since I was a teen
Sometimes there are blackberry seeds in my teeth, I'll dig em up, or chew them up, or spit em out

I grin like an opossum when you get close to me, I'll wrap my tail around you
I can't tell if I'm feeling pain or pleasure it's all the same
I just know I'd hold your hand when you need it

Buzzed the hair from atop my head, left some hair long in the back
I can't tell if its the people or the place, but either way, I will be okay
One dead moth on the stove, flying too close to the flame

I don't spend too much time thinking of what could've been
I'm just making moves for what could be
