It's hard to explain but just hear me out
Something has changed, what you're all about

The money you make matters more to you now
And I've been replaced by a dollar amount

But that's not the Scrooge that I first met
Who was giving and kind
And not terrible yet
That's the Scrooge that I could never forget

Looked at stars above with
That Scrooge
Felt the best things in life were free

That Scrooge is who I dream about
But that Scrooge is nowhere to be found
Cause this Scrooge isn't the Scrooge who loved me

That Scrooge was a boy
I was so young back then

So you admit you've changed

That's not what I meant

Well I'd love to know then
Where that boy went

There's nothing wrong with being rich

But rich shouldn't mean a personality switch
Your body and brain are here
But your heart had ditched
