My Little Bloom

Since the day you arrived, ever since the day you were born
You had to grow through the vines, around a nest built of the thorns

You are my little bloom, you were a surprise
I wish that I could see the world through your eyes

I wrapped you up in blankets warm, and dressed you up just like a toy
But you were all that's left of love, a love that has since grown cold

But you are my little bloom, and a beautiful one
You're bite has no venom because you are still so young

Days and months they turned to years, and often I have not been around
I would always reach for you, but my arms were held, held down

You're my little bloom, I'll always feel the same
Sprouted from a poison, for which you were never to blame
